How long have you been employed at La Maison d'Or?
Part time, since I was 5. Full time, since 2015.

Why do you want to work at LMD?
I love being a jeweller because it allows me to be a designer, work with people and so much more! Getting to continue in the family business is such a wonderful added bonus!

Why do you like to come to work every day?
So many reasons! Our team works so well together and it is such a positive working space. Our customers are so wonderful, it is such a privilege to help them celebrate their most important and meaningful occasions.

What is you favourite thing about your job?
Meeting people who are so in love and helping them find the perfect ring. The look on their faces when I present them the final ring is so rewarding. I also love meeting people whose parents and grandparents bought rings from my family, it is so touching.

What is your favourite memory acquired while working at La Maison d'Or?
Customizing a gorgeous Tacori ring to fit a client's style and budget while still being able to make it in time for a surprise proposal at Disney World!! Magical story for a truly wonderful couple.

How long have you worked at La Maison d'Or?
I have worked here since 2020.

Why did you want to work at LMD?
I have been working with jewellery for 21 years and in retail sales for 38 years. As soon as I walked into La Maison d'Or I felt like family. The design of the store is impeccable. We also offer amazing lines of designer jewellery and offer custom designs as well.

Why do you like to come to work every day?
I love finding that perfect item to celebrate our clients' special occasions and we have an amazing team here at La Maison d'Or.

Why did you want to become a fine jeweller?
I was always curious about the origins of gemstones and how they are mined, cut, and set into the perfect piece of jewellery.

What is your favorite memory?
A new client came in to get their clasp fixed on their chain. While they were in the store I presented the Canadian diamond collection. I suggested to put the diamond in her bridal set and take her original diamond and put it into a heart pendant. They were absolutely blown away on how stunning everything turned out. They have been part of my family ever since.

Why did you want to work at La Maison d'Or?
While working in a different jewellery store for 5 years, I always heard great things about La Maison d'Or! When the opportunity came up, I was very excited to be part of one of the best jewellery stores in Ottawa.

Why do you like to come to work every day?
I really enjoy what I do because with jewellery, it's always a happy occasion! I get to be part of a celebration every day!

Why did you want to become a fine jeweler?
Coming from an Armenian background who have been creating jewellery for thousands of years inspired me to become a jeweller myself.

What is your favorite memory?
Seeing the smile and the sparkle in my client's eyes when I help them find the ring of their dreams! I have created my own unforgettable memories with each and every one of them.

How long have you worked at LMD?

I have been working at La Maison d’Or since the fall of 2021!

Why did you want to work at LMD?

Having worked in jewellery for several years, I was eager to work with the best of the best. La Maison d'Or is just that! The impeccable service and product La Maison d'Or offers is a team I know I wanted to be a part of. 

Why do you like to come into work everyday?

I love meeting new people and sharing in the special occasions of their life to help celebrate! It's such a joyous way to spend a day!

Why did you want to become a fine jeweller?

I have had a fascination with gemstones since I was a kid. Being able to adorn one's self with gemstones as wearable art is amazing. Helping design jewellery with such strong sentiment and meaning is a privilege. To me, fine jewellery is one of the precious ways to remember a moment in time.

What is your favorite memory?

I love when we celebrate our clients every Christmas. Each VIP party there are so many smiles on our clients faces, sharing the stories about their jewellery and what it means to them.

How long have you worked at LMD? 

I have been with La Maison d'Or Since September 2022. 

Why did you want to work at LMD?

I’ve loved jewellery for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Orléans, I would often walk past the store and stop to admire the window displays. When the job posting came up, it felt like perfect timing, and I just knew I had to apply. After coming in for the interview and meeting the team, it immediately felt like the right fit. Working at La Maison d’Or means being surrounded by beautiful pieces every day and even more importantly, by an amazing group of people.

Why do you like to come into work everyday?

I love meeting and talking with new people, and La Maison d’Or allows me to do that every day. I also enjoy using my creativity to help find the perfect piece for each client, and if it doesn’t exist, being part of the custom design process to create something truly one of a kind. No two days are the same, so it never gets boring! The team works incredibly well together, which makes coming to work a true joy.

Why did you want to become a fine jeweller?

Although I didn’t have a background in jewellery, I had already started building a small collection of fine jewellery. I love diamonds, gemstones, gold, and platinum, and the beauty they bring into the world.

What is your favorite memory?

One of my favorite memories is helping a couple who had been together for over 20 years find the perfect engagement ring. Once the ring box was opened, he proposed right there in the store with the most heartfelt speech. There truly wasn’t a dry eye in the room. It was such a special moment to be part of!

Since October 2022.

Why did you want to work at LMD?

I love jewellery, I love local businesses, and I wanted to work with the best. La Maison d'Or ticks all those boxes!

Why do you like to come into work everyday?

I get to come into work every day surrounded by beautiful jewellery, wonderful people, and a great atmosphere! What else could you want? 

Why did you want to become a fine jeweller?

I love jewellery and I don't like doing things halfway, so I wanted to be working as a fine jeweller, with the best in the industry -- this way I can be proud of what I accomplish every day. 

What is your favorite memory?

I couldn't possibly pick just one memory as a favourite, as anytime we're a part of someone's special moment is a favourite. One that comes to mind is when we recreated a client's father's ring for him, inlaying the original piece onto the inside so he could still wear it. He was so happy and so touched when he received it. Having been a part of creating such a special and sentimental piece was an honour. 

How long have I worked at La Maison d'Or?  

I have been part of the LMD family since 2004.  

Why did you want to work at La Maison d'Or?  

I fell in love with jewellery at a very young age.  I had a very elegant grandmother who wore her gorgeous jewellery every day.  Big sparkling diamonds, giant gemstone rings, and beautiful bangles were her signature look.  Every piece held a memory, and she would tell me their stories while I tried them all on.  La Maison d’Or isn’t just a jewellery store; it’s where those heirloom pieces are taken from an idea and brought to life to celebrate the people we love most.  I wanted to be a part of that, not just selling a piece of jewellery, but creating one that told the stories of a lifetime.

Why do you like to come to work every day?  

I have the fun job!  As a jewellery designer, every day is a new project, a different adventure.  I love sitting down with people and showing them how their ideas can come together to create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery that truly represents their personality and lifestyle.  Watching as they describe all the different details they like, as I sketch the new piece right in front of them, and then seeing their eyes light up as their ideas become possible.  It’s magic every single time.  

Why did you want to become a fine jeweller?

There are very few things in life that last forever.  A well made, and well-loved piece of jewellery will be an heirloom that will tell your story for many generations to come.  I want to help tell those stories.

What is your favorite memory?  

There are so many wonderful memories of helping create the perfect engagement rings and wedding bands for friends and family as they began their “Happily Ever After”.  It’s always such an honor to have a small part in their love story.

How long have I worked at La Maison d'Or? 

I am the newest member of the team, here since early 2024!

Why did you want to work at La Maison d'Or? 

Growing up in Orleans, La Maison d'Or was the most fascinating jewellery store in the area. It's beautiful store and gorgeous pieces on display made anyone stop in their tracks and it made me want to be a part of it. I'm extremely detail-oriented so I was lucky to get this opportunity to work in Quality Control for the best in the business.

Why do you like to come to work every day? 

I truly love my job! I get to work with the most amazing people and to be surrounded by beautiful jewellery all day! Who wouldn't love to come to work here every day?

What is your favorite thing about your job? 

I love being able to see clients' visions come to life and being a part of it! So many happy memories are made from the work that we do.

What is your favorite memory? 

Being so new, I don't know that I have a favourite memory yet, but I am so excited to make some!

I have been with LMD since 2019.

Why did you want to work at La Maison d'Or?

As an AGS accredited gemologist, it is important to me to work somewhere trustworthy, and LMD is one of the most reputable jewellery stores in Ottawa.

Why do you like to come to work every day?

I get to work with an amazing group of passionate and hardworking individuals.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Solving the mystery of identifying gemstones.

What is your favorite memory?

Attending AGS Conclave in 2018 in Nashville and having the opportunity to meet and learn from experts in the field of gemology and appraisal.
